Every API marketplace today was built for human developers — browse a website, read documentation, copy code snippets. apitree is the first platform designed from the ground up where AI Agents are the primary API consumers. We're building the default infrastructure layer that AI Agents call when they need real-world data and capabilities.
In 2024, Anthropic introduced MCP (Model Context Protocol) — the first standard for AI Agents to discover and call external tools. By 2026, AI coding assistants like Claude Code and Cursor became mainstream. For the first time, AI Agents are calling more APIs than human developers.
Yet every API platform — RapidAPI, Plaid, Stripe — still assumes a human reads docs and writes integration code. That 4-6 hour integration cycle? apitree reduces it to 5 minutes. Not by making docs prettier, but by making them unnecessary. AI Agents discover APIs by intent, call them through MCP, and apitree handles auth, billing, caching, and monitoring.
The MCP ecosystem is growing fast. Shopify opened their entire commerce backend to AI Agents via MCP. GitHub, Figma, and Slack followed. But these are vertical MCP servers — one domain each. apitree is the horizontal layer: 1,950+ APIs across AI, data, financial, government, and more. One MCP connection, every category. Agents stack apitree alongside Shopify MCP for commerce, GitHub MCP for code, and Figma MCP for design.
Our founding team has collectively built, operated, and exited two API marketplace platforms serving financial institutions and enterprises. We have deep domain expertise in API gateway architecture, large-scale data scraping, bilateral marketplace operations, and financial infrastructure. Now we're applying that experience to build the next generation — where AI Agents, not humans, are the primary consumers.
“apitree is not a website developers visit. It's the API infrastructure layer that AI Agents call by default.”
